He was born in 1954. From 1969 he’s been working together with his group representing different trends of modern music and, at the same time, studying the traditional music of nations of the world. In 1985 together with musicians from Leningrad he made a 35-minute-long record of Russian folk songs: "We’re sorry for those who are not here". He’s been working a lot with theatres and during the last few years with the group "Derevo", for example. From 1992 he has been performing solo-concerts too.

It’s difficult to define the stylistic and genre frame of a performance. During one and a half hours in front of the public an unbelievably powerful event is unfolding itself in which Dubinnikov is an actor, an artist and a musician at the same time. Sampler sound combined with a lot of percussion drums, electro-guitar, piano, steel drums and many many other ones are used in the concert. At the end of a concert Dubinnikov usually invites musicians onto the stage to improvise together. In Szeged actress Yelena Goldobina also participate in the concert.
