Metanoia was founded in 1990. "Damned Story" is their third production and was produced between 1992 and 1994. The work of the group is not based on actual literary works but on dramatic inventions shaped by the interaction of visual and acoustical means, which finds its gesture stressed and nonverbal expression stretched.

"Damned Story" is a historical vision moving from the twenties to our time. And it is also a vision of an apocalyptic catastrophe, a universal voyage ending up in the "maze of a peace-time concentration camp". The locale is "Station 0", the cruel premises of dead and destroyed people, a kind of Necropolis, where the agony of workers, doctors and mental patients meets the risky attempt of a pensioned railway-man, who wakes up with a start, to learn how to ride a bicycle. The production – a montage of text sequences, musical pieces and choreography movements – tries to catch an epoch of a pressing economical, political and intellectual crisis by the means of a suggestive-metaphorical picto-reality and a complex tonality.
