Illyés Gyula Hungarian National Theatre of Beregszász (Ukraine): Imre Madách: The Tragedy of Man - -

28. Wednesday 18:00     Chamber Theatre

150'

... from an aesthetic aspect, this theatre represents transition: some of their characteristics connect them to Hungarian theatre, but, looking at the way they compose their performances, they are more strongly connected to other, less verbal East-European theatrical movements. ... they chose a starting point different from that of Madách: the performance starts with a 'motto' from the third scene: 'Where do I find the integrity of my ego?' The struggle takes place within the human being, not between Heaven and Hell.
