'We are made to face our present life in a distorting mirror, which
made many of the audience run away or close their eyes, cursing loudly
or escaping at the end dumb and deflated. But others were rejoicing,
stamping and applauding loudly, and enthusiastically – under the effect
of intensive revelations. And really the audience is at a loss: How to
accept their – our! – portrait? Should we destroy the mirror because
our picture is deformed?'
