Honvéd Chamber Theatre: Bozgor - -

‘Bozgor’ is a Romanian expression, a pejorative and offending word for
those who are citizens, but not members, of a country, who are
outsiders within a nation. (Incidentally, they can also be members of
another country, a group, but not citizens of it.) In both places they
are outcasts: they
are ‘bozgors’.
Shakespeare’s As You Like It is a manifold, complex play. It deals with
several issues, among those with being an outcast.
The actors of Honvéd Chamber Theatre, who come mainly from
Transylvania, put their own situation into the play a little. They view
the squabbles and wrangles of Rosalind, Orlando, Touchstone and
Jaques from this perspective; how they are in love, how they live… how
we live…
and how you live… |
