BK Cie: Cityzens - -

22. Thursday 16:30     Széchenyi Square

60'

Cast in pure copper, two men, the Cityzens, are standing in the city, motionless. They look as if they were frozen into a unique space-time. Their gestures, their dialogues, their unusual behaviour, their slow movements make them seem unreal, however, they create a particular atmosphere wherever they appear. Their precise choreography turns every situation into an unexpected end, their actions lead to new dialogues. Their unbreakable quietness generates contemplation in the fascinated audience, but spreads amazing energy at the same time. The Cityzens – a new dimension in the urban landscape.

BK Cie was founded in 1998 by Philippe Rives in Berlin. Their performances primarily use
gestures and movements, heavily rely on different Chinese martial arts, on African dances, acrobatic and mime elements, and can be regarded as ’body installations’. This is the company’s first visit to Hungary.
