Pavel Vangeli (Czech Republic): Swinging Marionettes

24. Saturday 16:30     Széchenyi Square

60'

Designed for audiences of both adults and children, this oneman marionette revue features original ideas accompanied by traditional puppet-show elements. The performance includes six acts in which the characters of an Angel, Devil, Clowns, Skeletons, a Fat Black Man and two Castaways
entertain the audience with their songs. Each act brings different scenery: the old Prague, a circus tent, a jungle, a desert island in the middle of the ocean, and finally a cemetery. The performance was inspired by the jazz and swing music of the thirties, and by the world of silent movies,
while the puppets perform the songs live on their instruments.

Pavel Vangeli, the puppeteer almost always on the move, has performed at Europe’s major festivals and won several prizes.
