The literary journal ‘Fosszília’ is published by the Faculty of Arts at the University of Szeged.
Its main objective is to introduce minority cultures and to contribute to the formation of
dialogues between them, concentrating primarily on the cultural
phenomena of the Southern Slav area. In 2004, the journal comes out
with a broader scale of topics: besides literary, philosophical, music
and film theoretical writings, drama theories are also included. In the
first part of the evening, two permanent authors, László Kiss and
Balázs Papp will read out their own writings. Then Charles Bukowski’s
short stories will be presented, whose writings were published in
Hungarian by Fosszília. The next issue of the journal will focus on the
theatre, so the reception-history of contemporary Hungarian and foreign
drama theory, the phenomena and concept of alternative (fringe) theatre
as well as the different levels of financial support and other current
topics will be discussed.
The discussion will be open, so audience participation is welcome. |
