The Cengiz Özek Shadow Theatre is one of the most significant puppet and shadow theatres in Turkey. They perform both classical and modern pieces in the traditional Karagöz shadow theatre genre, and also organise workshops, present exhibitions, and have an international puppet theatre festival. In the past twenty years, they have toured almost the whole world.Their plays are highly visual, so everyone, regardless of age and native language, can understand and enjoy them. The Magic Tree tells the story of the shaman characters of Karagöz plays, while reflecting also on worldwide problems of our age.
