Theatre Nobodies was formed in 2002 in Sofia. Its members are young
artists: puppeteers, directors, filmmakers, musicians. They mainly
create puppet performances for adults in which, according to their
credo, there are no words (they think words separate people); yet there
is live music (music unites people); puppets are more important than
the actors (’we are nobodies’); the detail is more important than the
whole (the whole is just a lot of details); the show should be felt,
not understood (freedom for the audience’s association); there is
complete darkness, and the audience preferably sit on the floor.
The group has performed in numerous theatre and puppet theatre
festivals in Europe and received several awards for their innovative
puppetry.
‘1,67 m’ is about what happens in one’s life between birth and reaching
the height of 1,67 m. The set is a huge loom, on which the two
puppeteers weave ‘moving images’ from transparent materials as well as
project photos, draw pictures, write and dance. |
