‘At the moment of birth, just before the light struck my eyes, already
in this world, yet still over there, a witty angel whispered something
in my ear, a secret, which I shall only pass on to one other person. It
will be that other whom he had also told it. And I made my way with
that secret, I don’t know yet who that other will be, I only know that
he is similar to me.’
(Frigyes Karinthy)
‘Ágnes Kuthy’s direction tells the story of Platon’s androgyne with
means of shadow theatre, with a slide projector and a projector. Ágnes
Kuthy studied puppetry direction at the Ernst Bush Academy of Dramatic
Art in Berlin. She brought her technical knowledge from Berlin,
although the inclination to experiment and phantasy cannot be taught,
it is her own. The ironical, symbolic and self-reflecting performance
shows our multi-facetedness, selfishness and love in our relationships
and how these two properties of ours help and hinder us in finding our
other half.’
