Last year the International Association of Theatre Critics (IATC) and the Theatre Critics’ Corporation organised a seminar for young critics for the first time in Hungary. This form of training worked well in Szeged too, as it was proved by the feedback. The form has not been changed, but this time the Theatre Critics’ Corporation invited young critics from the Central-Eastern-European region, getting in touch with the national organizations of IATC. The common language of the discourse is English and Theatre above all. Ten Czech, Slovak, Romanian, Serbian, Croatian, Transylvanian and Upper Hungarian young critics will work together for a week under the leadership of György Karsai, professor of the University of Pécs, the Central-European University and the Academy of Drama and Film.The study period is quite short but there are a lot of possibilities to gain experience, to establish relationships, to widen the horizon and to get acquainted with the different approaches. The participants of the seminar can inform those beyond and within the borders of the country who have not heard about the international THEALTER Festival so far.
