Figurina Animation Theatre, the first Hungarian private puppet theatre
after forty years, was founded in 1983 by Gábor Siklósi and his wife
Klára Fers. The group regularly tours in Hungary and at international
festivals as well as plays at several theatres in Budapest. Figurina
likes to perform with puppets, but prefers more original forms of
expression, such as „pure animation” based on fantasy: acting with
hands and objects. All their shows are written, created, and performed
by the group itself.
In this show the world is enacted by hands. When they perform for
children, the performers first initiate their young audience to the
finesses of hand playing. Then, with no other help than hands and
music, they tell a thrilling tale of a brave young lad who defeated the
dragon who had kidnapped the Sun and the Moon. |
