Theatre Ache was founded in 1989 in St. Petersburg. Besides theatre, the group also deals with painting, photography and film, and tries to show the basic state of affairs through the poor, everyday, objective world. They use simple, pure forms.

Ache performed, for the first time in Hungary, at THEALTER International in 1995, then returned
in 1997. In 2000, they staged two productions in Szeged, one of them, ’Ballet’ was produced for the 10th anniversary of the festival. During the past years, they have travelled the whole world and have everywhere achieved great success. They regularly play in Russia, have participated in several prestigious theatre festivals in Europe, and were also invited to South-America. Now they will also
perform at ’Sziget’ Festival, and then: Edinburgh!
