Mónika ‘Miczura’ Juhász has a unique voice and an exceptional performing ability that make her one of the most famous gypsy artists all over the world. In her newly formed band, she has fellow artists who put her songs in a really exciting musical environment, with a sensibility towards traditional music. After three years, the result of experiments and search was born: an album originating from the roots of Roma culture and from the effects of the world around us. They reached number 9 on the European world music Top 20 in May. THEALTER will be the first occasion when this high-quality multimedia concert production will appear on stage elsewhere than in Budapest (in Hungary).

‘These songs come from different kinds of gypsy and musical traditions. These are the songs of my mother, of my family, of celebrations, of funerals collected from old gypsies who sang in a talented way I may never be able to. With Mitsoura it was that I wanted to perform again. It was a natural process, a slow and beautiful development. And these songs have this sound for me now.’
