’Dance? Yes, indeed, just like our lives. Sometimes light and sometimes sad. At times we must think about it. Soul dance! Let it be blessed and followed by success.’ (Miklós Jancsó)
The performance is the outcome of joint work by blind, partially sighted, disabled and non-disabled dancers. Disabled and non-disabled people work together for the experience of artistic discovery and research in an attempt to learn from one another, while also re-examining their own views of, and prejudices about, one another. It is a piece of theatre that does not aim at inciting feelings of pity or sympathy. It merely wants to show the infinite possibilities of the limitedness and freedom of the human body and of human nature. The performance was co-produced by the Budapest Spring Festival, with the support of the State Institute for the Disabled.
