Theatre  is  change.  It  is metamorphosis  itself. University  theatre  is  even more  so.  It  is not only  the millennium  years  that  are passing by with a speed which is difficult to follow. It is not only the transforming structure of theatre in Hungary that is – or is not – changing, but the

companies also constantly, or at  least  in every  five years,  renew  themselves. We are  trying  to grasp  this change. We are  trying  to make  it constant, in order to feel safe in the future. Sometimes in a performance, sometimes in a theatre group. How do university theatres fit into

this system? How can they be fitted into this system? Are they legitimate? We are looking for answers together with groups from Debrecen, Veszprém, Budapest and Szeged, with the help of performances as well as happenings, discussions and artists from other fields of art. ’Ekisfeszt’ Academy presents artistic but not exclusively theatrical productions created by university students. Whoever visits our base at JATE Club any time during the festival, s/he will always be part of something going on. It will be like a campus, with all the excitement of university life, for those who have a thirst for knowledge, and for those who wish to belong. Welcome!
