recited by: Balog József directed by: Dégi János
„If the bird sings, It’s a good sign...” (Jacques Prévert)
In this solo performance, József Balog recites mostly poems by Miklós Radnóti, one of the greatest Hungarian poets, whose final poems survived in a notebook found in a mass grave long after he was shot dead on a death march in late 1944. Balog wishes to show a more realistic face of the poet than usual, he wants to show us the animal, the monster hidden deep under the restrained and controlled surface of Radnóti’s personality.
