“Tartuffe productions usually highlight how the hypocrite main character walks through everyone to reach his goals. In this version, how Orgon meets Tartuffe is much more important. Since Orgon is not aware of his actions; he does not know that they want to use his good will for an evil cause. Doing something apparently good in the name of the evil is much more dangerous and common than pure malicious intent.” (József Balog)
Director Tamás Herczeg experiments with an unusual theatrical language, taking elements from the theatre of Brecht and Meyerhold, to talk about the impossibility of life without lies.
