Georg Kreisler’s musical monodrama relates the story of a young Jewish actress’s career, starting as a cabaret actress in Vienna before the ‘Anschluss’ and following her, after her emigration in 1938, through Switzerland to stardom and disillusionment in the USA, and her heart-breaking return to post-war Vienna. Lola Blau’s destiny, in the broader sense, is that of the artist in general. The production has been a great success at various festivals and venues in Transylvania and Hungary.
