‘Once upon a time, there was a wardrobe called Mary’ and all of a sudden this wardrobe filled up with very strange figures. So Heaven knows how but I am sure that the Captain, the Witch, the World-famous Detectives, the Croissant-Queen, the Seven-Headed Dragon, the Shy Little Mouse and the others lived there. Who would believe that so many of them can find room in a wardrobe, even though they can travel around the world, write letters, make phone calls, sing, move to different places, have breakfast or quarrels there, looking for themselves, one another and their place in the world. So they actually live. However, it is not at all unlikely that the Queen is only a slim clothes-hanger, the heads of the frightening Dragon are coat- and jacket-sleeves, and the Shy Little Mouse is a grey fur glove. But all that goes for nothing. It is much more important that all of them have a wonderful story, which has happened to them, and only they know it. Because no one should ever believe that in a wardrobe there is nothing interesting happening!
