Béla Bartók, the greatest Hungarian composer, was one of the most significant musicians of the 20th century. He was a composer, pianist and collector of East European folk music. The year 2006 is the 125th anniversary of his birth. To celebrate this anniversary, the Harlekin Puppet Theatre dedicates its new performance to him. He was a man of few words, but his music spoke for him. The performance is a non-verbal show including more than 30 different puppet-studies for piano. Our intention is to draw attention to the world of folksongs and their playfulness. Unique puppetry techniques, black light theatre and playing with objects help to show the lyricism of the folk songs.
