’The world began to exist
when I let it in. It may be that it is still a mess, but it still exists!
However, I began to get the world straight. Thus, art turned up. Only then did
I recognise the real difference between the sun and a comb but learned at the same
time that it is one and the same.’
(Daniil Kharms)
‘The present project starts
out from the ideas of the Russian poet-writer Daniil Kharms. And what is most
important here is neither the idea, nor the content, nor the form, but the
cleanness of order (the same order which rules the whole world). It is
difficult to speak with old words in a new language. I think we will even
surprise ourselves, by creating this as it was never done before, using space,
colours, rhythm, objects, figures, true to the spirit of his poetry.’
(Oleg Zhukovsky)
Oleg Zhukovsky is a returning
guest of our festival. After years of working with world-famous Russian theatre
groups such as Derevo, Akhe, Formal Theatre, he has made numerous solo
performances in the past years as well as participated in festivals and held
workshops.
Zoltán Perovics is the main
figure in Metanoia Detachment from Szeged.
‘His theatre is the theatre of order, where the objects and the lights and the
texts and the actors answer one another just like good old Swiss clockwork. He
is obsessed with theatre. He has visions, he catches these visions with a
butterfly net and casts them into iron, into light, into 220 V, into levers, in
order to give them back to the spiritual world. He is obsessed. He is from the
caste of … Van Gogh, Artaud.’
