‘Inside me big fights with small
With one accord they win and fall.’
(János Lackfi)
‘The evening at Mu Theatre came as an incomparable surprise. And the
name of the surprise is Anna Réti. [...] Her solo is full of life and
fire but is cruel at the same time. There is some kind of humanity
infected with pain. Her images are plastic – the atmosphere of the
performance is so heavy, as if we were in a jungle.’
(Ádám Mestyán, Színház)
A shorter version of the performance, Lump in the Throat, collected
several prizes at the 10th International Solo-Dance-Theatre Festival in
Stuttgart, namely: the first prize for dance, the second prize for
choreography and the audience award. Inside out, in this version, won
the audience award at the II. Monodance Festival in 2006 and the Lábán
Rudolf Award for best choreography of the year in 2007.
After graduating from the Art College of Pécs, Anna Réti continued her
studies at the Dance Academy of Rotterdam. She worked with Dutch
companies such as Galili Dance and Conny Janssen Danst. Having returned
to Hungary she became a freelance dancer. She worked in the projects of
Attila Kun, Réka Szabó, László Hudi, Eszter Gál, Tamás Juronics, Zoltán
Nagy and Klára Pataky. Inside Out is her first feature choreography.
