Due to the innovative ideas of the present editor, the cultural journal Symposion established in 1963 in Pécs is still progressive. The latest edition is a comic strip adaptation of Ottó Tolnai’s works. Similarly to the last couple of editions, the main principle is to make the comic strip adaptations (free or classical) of literary texts by applied artists. The current project aims at presenting Tolnai’s texts through the works of visual artists. With the involvement of the most prominent artists of the region, the editor selected some of Tolnai’s works in chronological order. The selected texts were placed along an imaginary timeline and according to the editor’s instructions, the Croatian, French, Hungarian and Serbian artists had to create a network within which these visual materials are able to communicate with one another.
