‘There is something that has been bothering me lately: where and how are people searching for their own happiness nowadays? And which are the obstacles they create for themselves for pleasure, just to suffer from their own unhappiness?’ (director Márta Vargyas)
Janus University Theatre (JESZ) was formed in 1996 in Pécs. The following year the town university provided a place for them in a university building. The company has been cooperating with different directors from the very beginning. They regularly take part in national and international student festivals and fringe theatre festivals. Since 1999 they have been organizing the National Student Drama Festival.
