Compagnie Alise (France): Soror

25. Saturday 23:00     Old Synagogue

50'

My sister was not my choice.
All my past memories include my sister.
The bond is animalistic.
This bond could have existed without developing into a relationship
If I chose to sever this bond, I would surely regret it immensely.
From this animalistic bond, an exceptional relationship for us both was born.

Compagnie Alise works in Paris, under the artistic direction of Claudia Flammin. It draws its inspiration from encounters which form the basis of choreographic research which, in turn, gives birth to artistic performance. These encounters are often interpreted in duo or trio on the stage.
The company’s main aim is to create choreographic projects based on real-life situations. By interpreting the ways these realities have an effect on their own personalities, the process of choreographing involves an inner search, too.
Soror is their latest performance, drawing on the relationship between ‘woman and sister’.

performed by: Latifa Leforestier, Heni Varga, Claudia Flammin
music: The Sonic Youth, Astor Piazzolla, Prince
the performance includes excerpts from Being and Nothingness by Jean-Paul Sartre, and from La famille: Le complexe, facteur concret de la psychologie familiale.
