THEALTER Tea for Two workshops Let your voice be heard! – Antigone Reloaded
This year THEALTER focuses also on workshops. Young theatre and drama students will be the participants who will work in three groups under the guidance of four well-known theatre makers. András Urbán is a theatre director as well as the managing director of the Kosztolányi Dezső Theatre in Subotica (Serbia), who is also the special guest of the festival. Csaba Horváth is a dancer, choreographer and director as well as the leader of Forte Company, and he was the special guest of THEALTER in 2013. Péter Gemza is also a dancer, choreographer and director, and presently works as the artistic director of Csokonai National Theatre in Debrecen. Tibor Mészáros is an actor at Csokonai National Theatre, who will work together with Péter Gemza and will also perform in a Beckett play at the festival. The starting point is the complexity of the conflicts in Sophocles’ Antigone, but the workshop leaders are free to choose an approach, a viewpoint. The five-day workshops will end with demonstrations to be presented on the opening and closing days of the festival. Furthermore, three young theatre critics will observe the work process and write about their impressions in a blog.
The workshop is supported by: NKA Színház- és Táncművészet Kollégiuma
